See what we did for Makro ...

Case Study // Makro

Client: Makro

Location: Birmingham, UK

Installation: Full Electrical Installation

Date: May 2012

Archers began working on Makro projects in January 2012 as part of their Range & Space refurbishment roll-out programme. We completed our first installations in Charlton and Enfield and commenced the electrical works for Birmingham Store in April completing at the end of May. All the projects involved night work, as it was essential to Makro they continued trading during the day.

The electrical scope of works encompassed the new and reconfiguration of the existing lighting in conjunction with the new store layouts. This helped Makro to maximise the reduced store footprint and improve range display. In addition to the lighting arrangements Archers took care of all the power and data requirements.

Makro is an originally Dutch chain of Warehouse clubs, also called cash and carries. The first one opened in 1968 in Amsterdam. In the following years more stores opened in the Netherlands and in several other countries within Europe. The stores are not open to the general public, only to businesses which have to be registered members in order to gain entry to the store. Makro is the third largest cash & carry wholesaler in the UK with a turnover of £1.1bn and a portfolio of 30 depots nationally.

Testimonial: What the client said..."9/10 only negative comment was forgetting to take the rubbish out. Very good overall. Knew what they were doing. Took own initiative to sort out any problems they may have. Quality really good. No PPE problems"- Barlows Report, Laura O’Hanlon - Supply Chain Co-ordinator
