Glossier’s London Pop-Up Is Its Most Successful of All Time – And It’s Staying Put

January 2020

It’s Staying Put ….With over 100,000 fans visiting in just two and a half months; Glossier Covent Garden has decided to stay put, announcing its pop-up will now remain open for the rest of the year.
Archers delivered the electrical installation for the fit out of this quirky standalone pop-up back in November 2019. Initially the store was due to trade for only 47 days, however after a record breaking footfall it will stay…for now at least.
The New York based cult beauty brand has a sizeable and highly engaged community. After gaining a massive following across social media, Glossier has opened two permanent locations in the US and a series of wildly popular pop-up shops across the world, all at just five years old.
Glossier’s Covent Garden location contains six rooms with a floor area of 1,765 sq. ft. Walking through the entrance it’s clear the concept takes inspiration from the city’s architecture, with even a nod to the well-known chimney sweep scene in Mary Poppins. A noteworthy element is the specialist lighting that Archers installed that doesn’t cast a shadow. This brightens each room and makes the vivid colour scheme pop whilst giving the illusion of a larger space. Glossier Founder and CEO Emily Weiss said in Vogue about the store: “We’re thrilled to be back in London. This time with an even more immersive and enduring experience that looks at the city through Glossier-coloured glasses”.
